Shenzhen to host int'l expo of landscape architecture

South China city Shenzhen will host the Fifth China International Landscape Architecture and Flower Exposition next year, China Daily reported recently.

Highlighting harmony between humans and nature, the expo will start in September and last for six month, the newspaper said.

A Shenzhen official in charge of the expo said the local government wants to take the opportunity to improve the urban horticultural level and create better living conditions for its citizens.

The event will be held at the city's international horticulture and flower exhibition garden, which will see a 235 million yuan (28.2 million US dollars) upgrade.

During the expo, 120 outdoor exhibition spaces covering 200,000square meters will be provided, 90 of which will be reserved for overseas exhibitors.

The expo will be sponsored by the Ministry of Construction and the local government.

The previous expos were held in Dalian, Nanjing, Shanghai and Guangzhou.
