New Shang for southern China

Hong Kong-based Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts plans to open its first hotel in Guangzhou in early 2007.

The Shangri-La Pazhou is slotted to start construction next to the Guangzhou International Convention and Exhibition Centre, considered to be one of the largest in the world.

The 750-room hotel is 15 minutes away from the town center and 30 minutes from the new Hua Du International Airport. Features such as a Cantonese restaurant with 30 private dining rooms along with a 2,300m2 ballroom accommodating up to 2,000 people are seen to be great incentives for the events market.
