Airline Opens New Route

A new weekly flight between Guangzhou and Huangguoshu, Guizhou Province opened Tuesday, which is expected to cut the price of a six-day package tour to Huangguoshu from 3,000 yuan (US$365.85) per person to 2,000 yuan.

Huangguoshu is one of the most popular tourist places in Guizhou Province. However, passengers traveling to Huangguoshu had to fly to the capital city of Guizhou and then spend another three hours on a bus to Huangguoshu.

With a single fare of 860 yuan, passengers from Guangzhou can save time and money by using the first Guangzhou-Huangguoshu flight in the holidays.

Meanwhile, the Guangdong Provincial Tourism Bureau received 78 complaints about more than 18 travel agencies during the past six months.

Domestic tours accounted for 68 percent of the complaints while the other 32 percent concerned overseas trips. Some tourists to Hainan or Thailand complained to the bureau that there were extra stops for shopping but fewer sightseeing tours in the packages.
